Day surgery with ease
Syncerus Care is an association of specialist anaesthesiologists based in George, Southern Cape, South Africa .They approached us to develop and produce videos that would set their patients at ease before getting day surgery. They wanted to show what such a day looks like and set the patients expectations. The idea was to produce a short reinactment with explainar section to point out some key elements of the day.
The Process
Together with the team at Syncerus Care we devloped a script and shot list for two videos. The one video shows a typical day that a child would have when getting day surgery. The other was similar, but it shows it from an older adult's perspective. We created a shot list and scheduled the shooting days. Both home scenes (morning and evening) were shot on one day and the hospital scenes were shot on another day when the day hospital was closed for surgary, allowing us access.
We are proud to have been a part of the work Syncerus Care does and to have had the opportunity to help them set their patients at ease. These are not just tools to informa and educate patients. It is also a marketing tool that sets Syncerus care appart from there counterparts, as it shows real empathy towards their pateints, showing that they understand the anxieties often associated with medical care and espessialy surgery.
